A 3-Year Campaign

Building For Our Future – Fan the Flame Lodge Renovation

A $5.1 Million Generosity Campaign

We want to relentlessly pursue this generation with the life-transforming message of salvation in Jesus.

To accommodate Camp Carl’s tripled growth and summer waiting lists of 400+ campers over the past decade, the Camp Carl Board of Directors approved a capital campaign to:

  • Expand the lodge dining hall and kitchen with plans to honor the David Burnham family in the renovated space
  • Lower-level centralized weather shelter and multi-purpose space
  • Fund two additional campaign initiatives amounting to $900,000, the Delta Leadership Residency and Emergency Reserves, which were swiftly and fully funded through corporate and individual contributions
Where are we now?

Our first foundational givers have committed $1.78 million toward the $5.1 million, but more partners are needed to meet this immediate need and finish raising the remaining $3.32 million.

Why Renovate?

Only half of summer campers can be seated indoors for meals

Limited mealtime seating capacity limits retreat group size

Kitchen is in constant used due to staggered mealtimes

Mealtime medicines must be transported from another building

Four inadequate weather shelters need replaced with a centralized shelter

Limited indoor large-group spaces limit schedules and guest group use

Benefits of the Lodge & Kitchen Expansion

Professionally equipped lodge pavilion & kitchen

Expanded seating to serve an additional 350 people

Removes need for rented tents, frees up parking lots, and allows indoor eating for all

Eliminates need for staggered mealtimes, reducing kitchen use

Prevents exceeding maximum capacity at mealtimes

Medical clinic centrally housed within dining hall allows efficient care and distribution of medicines

Lower-Level Weather Shelter and Multi-Purpose Space

Provides a critical, accessible, centralized weather shelter for the entire camp and doubles as a large ministry space

Replaces four inadequate shelter spaces spread throughout camp

Opens opportunities for more indoor, large-group activities

Envisioning the Next Decade and Beyond

As the Lord provides, through the generosity of friends like you, we have some incredible goals to grow Camp Carl and improve the experience for campers and retreat attendees. Here’s what we envision for the next 15 years:

A new Welcome Area Hub for families and guests, featuring a Worship Center, a central green space with amphitheater, a paved drop-off circle and parking lots, staff lounge and meeting space, new rec center, and outdoor sports fields and play areas.

Increased overnight camper capacity (cabins, beds, and showers)

Expanded infrastructure for increased camper capacity (facilities and utilities)

Paved trails for improved travel and use of camp

More camp FUN (cultivating the soil to better share the gospel)
